Rebecca Minkoff Is Teaming Up With Intel To Start Supporting The Women In Technology
Designer Rebecca Minkoff is partnering with Intel after the company donated $300 million as a Diversity and Inclusion initiative. The aim for this is to to give women and under-represented minorities full representation in its U.S. workforce by the year 2020.
“Intel and I have banded together to take the $300 million funds for diversity and economic empowerment and really focus on programming, whether that be college tours geared toward women and getting them interested in technology, hackathons, and educating people in fashion that technology isn’t scary. Our company is the product of the use of technology,”– Minkoff tells WWD22
Both are working together to broaden the networking of diversity and that of female engineers, while supporting more positive portrayals of opportunities for women. Why, you may ask? Because it is important to connect women to opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, education and careers.
“I wouldn’t be here without the hard fought progress toward equality and economic opportunity made by the women who came before me,We still have work to do. As we celebrate the progress we’ve made in the past 20 years, we are also recommitting ourselves to realizing full equality and participation for the next generation.”-Minkoff
