5 Reasons Why You Should Unplug From Technology For A Change

Remember When Life Used To Be More Simple?

If you think you’re spending too much time on your phone, then you’re probably right. Every 24 hours, people send 27 billion SMS text messages, download 189 million apps, and place 12 billion calls. Note that that statistic only pertains to smartphones.

Its 2015, and you are nothing without your cell phone. But there is a certain line that you just don’t cross. We all have that friend that just has to tweet and post about everything and anything. Technology is extremely convenient. It has changed the way we live. But don’t forget that you have a life. Your life is NOT tech. Do NOT let it harm your relationships with the people you love.

Now, these things were here first before the age of Netflix and Facebook. It’s a simple reminder of what life can be all about.

1. Quiet time.

Silence is golden sometimes. When you are alone in your thoughts, that is when you are amplified. Solitude will boost concentration and productivity, relationships and overall make you happy. If you feel you’re being pulled in all sorts of directions, then take a breather! Hit the pause button for once in your  busy life.

2. Go outside.

Whenever someone says that there isn’t anything to do, they probably mean that there isn’t anything to do that they consider ‘fun’. Well there is plenty to do everything outside! Remember the days when you couldn’t wait to be done with your homework so you can play tag? You aren’t limited to tag, there is walks, hikes, biking. All sorts of things you can do to just unwind from all the technology around you.

3. Read a real book.

Every movie, every type of music that you listen to and watch all came from the same source: Books. No don’t cheat by using your kindle. Actually pick up a book and stick to it!

4. Play games.

Not in the form of video games, or Candy Crush, but actualy fun games. Candyland, Monopoly, Tic Tac Toe, ANYTHING! Those things are all still available to you. Plus they won’t irritate your eyes as much as a computer screen.

5. Craft.

DIY projects can give your home a refresh new slate whenever you’re feeling too caught up in the Twitter nonsense. How about a quilt project? Or learn some new designs for your nails?

Take time out of your day to really enjoy something that once was ordinary. Become extraordinary, and thrive ladies… thrive.
